The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, received, on Friday 20 November 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe, Mrs. Edite Ten Jua.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss issues of common interest and to affirm the desire to inject a new dynamic into relations between the two countries.
In this context, Mrs. Ten Jua reaffirmed her country’s constant position in support of the Moroccan Sahara and the defence of the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, a commitment which was reflected in the inauguration of a Consulate General in Laayoune at the beginning of the year.
On this occasion, the Santomean Minister condemned the blockade perpetrated by the polisario in El Guergarat from 21 October, not respecting either the United Nations resolutions or the role of the African Union in supporting the political process.
Mrs. Ten Jua also expressed her support for the peaceful actions undertaken by the Moroccan authorities to restore the free movement of goods and people between Morocco and Mauritania.
At the end of these talks, the two Ministers signed a roadmap that will give new impetus to bilateral cooperation in several sectors, particularly education and training, technical cooperation and economic promotion.
